Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) Manual
Prepared in terms of Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act No. 2 of 2000)
1. Introduction
This Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) Manual has been prepared
in accordance with Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act,
2000 ("PAIA").
The purpose of this Manual is to:
- Explain how members of the public may request access to records held by BIZZER INSURANCE BROKERS.
- Promote transparency and accountability.
- Explain how personal information is processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
- Assist individuals wishing to exercise their rights under PAIA.

12. Fees
Prescribed request fees may apply in accordance with PAIA.
The requester will be informed if payment is required before the

13. Grounds for Refusal
Access may be refused where permitted by PAIA, including where disclosure would:
- Invade another person's privacy.
- Disclose confidential commercial information.
- Prejudice legal proceedings.
- Compromise security.
- Expose privileged information.
- Violate statutory obligations.
14. Remedies
- Request reasons for the refusal.
- Exercise any applicable legal remedies.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator where appropriate.
